How a Logan Pickup Actually Works

Most airport transfer pages tell you they are reliable and leave it there.

This one tells you how a Logan pickup actually works, because the airport has rules that catch people out. Knowing them is the difference between walking straight to your car and standing at the wrong door with your bags.

Boston Elite Coach runs a car service to Boston airport every day of the year, in both directions. Here is exactly what happens when you book one.

Worth Knowing

Three Logan Rules That Catch People Out

These are Massport rules, not ours. They shape how every legitimate limo service to Logan Airport has to operate.

01

You cannot hail a limo at Logan

Massport permits limousine and livery pickups by prior reservation only. There is no rank you can walk up to and no way to arrange one once you have landed. If you have not booked before you fly, your options at the curb are a taxi or a rideshare.

02

Nobody is allowed to wait at the curb

Curbside waiting and parking is prohibited at every Logan terminal and it is enforced. Vehicles idling at the curb face fines that typically run between $35 and $100 per violation. Even at the designated limousine stands, Massport allows vehicles roughly ten minutes.

03

Which is why your chauffeur waits at the cell phone lot

A good chauffeur does not turn up early and sit outside collecting tickets. They wait at the cell phone lot, which is under five minutes from every terminal, and move in when you are actually at the curb with your bags.

Your Choice

Two Ways to Be Met

Every limo service to Logan Airport handles arrivals one of two ways. They suit different trips, so tell us which you want when you book. There is no guesswork on the day.

Curbside pickup

Your chauffeur waits at the cell phone lot. You text when you have your luggage and are heading out, and the car is at your door within a few minutes. The quicker option and the one most domestic travellers choose.

Meet and greet

Your chauffeur parks, walks into the terminal and meets you at baggage claim with a name sign, then walks you out to the vehicle. Worth it for international arrivals, first visits to Boston, elderly passengers, families with children, or anyone with a lot of luggage.

Where the Limo Stands Are

Each terminal has a designated limousine stand, and they are not all in the same place. Follow the signs for Limos or Ground Transportation. Your chauffeur will also text you exactly where they are.

Your flight is tracked, so a delay is not your problem.

Delays Are Handled Before You Land

When you book, we take your flight number. We monitor it and move the pickup to match the actual landing time.

A two hour delay does not need a phone call from you at midnight, and it does not cost you a missed booking. For international arrivals into Terminal E we build in extra time for immigration and customs, because wheels down and ready to leave are two very different moments.

The Fleet

Which Vehicle Suits Your Trip

Airport work is mostly about luggage, not passengers.

Two people with four large cases need an SUV, not a sedan. Tell us your bag count when you book and we will put you in the right vehicle.

What a Car Service to Logan Costs

Every trip is quoted individually, because the price depends on your pickup town, the vehicle, the time and whether you need meet and greet. What we can show you is what the alternatives cost, because that is the comparison most people are actually making.

Central Parking Garage$46 per day walk-up  ·  $29 booked in advance
Terminal B Garage$46 per day
Economy Garage$37 per day, plus the shuttle to your terminal
Off-site lots$18 to $20 per day, plus the shuttle

Massport published rates for 2026. A week at the Central Garage is around $322. At the Economy Garage it is around $259. That is before fuel, tolls, the tunnel, and the two trips you make yourself at either end of the holiday.

What people forget to count

Rideshare pricing surges exactly when flights land in volume, which is the moment you need it. A taxi will not track your flight, so a delay means starting over at the rank. Neither gives you a fixed price agreed before you travel.

When a car service is the closer call

For a solo traveller on a short trip, a rideshare is often cheaper. For a family with luggage, a week-long trip, an early departure, or anything where being on time genuinely matters, a booked car service is usually closer than people expect.

Coverage

Where We Collect From

Our car service to Boston airport is not only a city service.

A large share of our airport work starts well outside the city, where the drive is long enough that parking for a week stops making sense.

Greater Boston/Cambridge and Somerville/Waltham, Newton and MetroWest/North Shore and South Shore/Worcester/Providence and Rhode Island/Southern New Hampshire/Cape Cod and the ferry ports/Western Massachusetts

If your town is not listed, ask. We quote it either way.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How Early Should The Car Collect Me For A Departure?

For a domestic flight we normally suggest arriving at Logan two hours before departure, and three for international. Working backwards from that, we set the pickup based on your town and the time of day. Tunnel traffic at rush hour can add half an hour, and we build that in rather than hoping.

What Happens If My Flight Is Delayed?

Nothing, from your side. We track the flight and adjust the pickup. You do not need to call, and you are not charged for the wait.

Can I Book A Car Service To Logan Airport From New Hampshire?

Yes. Southern New Hampshire is a regular run for us, as are Worcester, Providence and Cape Cod. Longer transfers are quoted as a fixed price rather than by the hour.

Is Meet And Greet Extra?

Tell us when you book and we will include it in your quote. For international arrivals into Terminal E it is usually worth it, because customs timing is unpredictable and a name sign at baggage claim removes the guesswork.

How Many Bags Will Fit?

A sedan takes three of average size. An SUV takes six. If you are travelling with skis, golf clubs, instruments or a pushchair, say so when booking and we will put you in the right vehicle rather than discovering the problem at your door.

Do You Cover Early Morning And Late Night Flights?

Yes, 24 hours a day, all year. Early departures and late arrivals are a large part of what we do.

Can I Book A Return As Well?

Yes, and most clients do. Booking both directions at once means your return is already tracked against your inbound flight.
